Amina Abdalla is a passionate lobbyist and advocate dedicated to fostering democratic engagement within her community. With a deep understanding of political processes, she works tirelessly to educate her community about their rights and responsibilities. Amina organized workshops and community forums that empowered individuals to voice their opinions and advocate for change. Earlier this year, Amina worked with Senator Claire Wilson on a Halal Bill that was ultimately passed into a law to safeguard halal foods.
Runta News is excited to announce that Amina Abdalla recently joined Gordan Thomas Honeywell in 2024 as one of their State Lobbyists. Before joining GTH, Amina served as an in-house lobbyist for over 5,000 adult family homes in Washington State. In this role, she tackled a myriad of complex issues affecting adult family home providers. Amina conducted comprehensive research and crafted strategic responses tailored to various advocacy channels, ensuring that the unique challenges faced by these providers were effectively addressed. Her work involved not only engaging with state agencies but also influencing legislative processes and negotiating through collective bargaining. Amina’s efforts were instrumental in driving impactful change, and empowering adult family home providers to better serve their communities.
Prior to her tenure with the Adult Family Home Council, Amina was an advocate for grassroots organizations, where she focused on pressing issues that affected marginalized communities. Through her advocacy work, Amina has consistently demonstrated her ability to amplify voices that often go unheard, making her a formidable force in the realm of public policy and advocacy.
Amina’s extensive experience also included managing a diverse portfolio of local, state, and judicial campaigns across Washington State right after she graduated from Penn State with a double major in political science and African studies.
